Technology Transfer Workshop II 
February 15 – 16, 2011

Can we find investors, markets, and customers for new technology?

Objective of the workshop:
The objective of this workshop is to examine how new ideas, discoveries, inventions, and new technologies are brought from scientific or engineering laboratories into the market place.   The workshop will cover the entire technology transfer process from inception to the point where products based on new technologies are introduced in the market place. A discussion concerning intellectual property and protection of new technology will be introduced at the beginning of the workshop.  The important concepts presented during the workshop will be highlighted by real cases describing introduction, management, and implementation of new technology.

Professor Ing. George Tesar, Ph.D. (Wisconsin, USA)
Chief Scientific Officer for Social Marketing at ILOL and Professor Emeritus, Umeå University (Sweden).  Co-author of Scientific Technology Management: Building Bridges between Scientists, Engineers, and Business Management, 2nd edition published by Imperial College Press in London in 2008, and Smaller Manufacturing Enterprises in an International Context: A Longitudinal Exploration, also published by Imperial College Press in London in 2010.

Content:
The workshop will focus on the construction of the entire technology transfer process along with the formulation of the necessary documents to specify and protect new technology from being taken over by competitors.  The key documents of this process include: (1) technology briefs, (2) specification of new product ideas, (3) description of a product concept, (4) prototype specifications, and (5) a performance description of the new product ready for the market place.

Registration fee: 8 600 CZK
Register by 15 January, 2011 for reduced rate 8 200 CZK
Late registration fee is 9 000 CZK (between 10 and 15 February)
PhD. students will get 10% discount
 
The registration fee includes:

  • Reception at the end of the first day

Payment:
Registration fees are payable in advance of the workshop. All payment details and pro forma
invoice will be emailed to those who have registered. Cancellation policy follows.
 
Cancellation policy
  • In case of a cancellation of a valid registration before 10th February 2011, a handling fee of € 20,- will be charged. No other cancellation fee is applied.
  • In case of a cancellation of a valid registration after 10th February 2011, a cancellation fee of 100% of the price will be applied.
  • A cancellation of a valid registration must be made in writing (by e-mail, fax, or post) to the address of ILOL Žerotínova 32 Praha 3, Czech Republic, fax: +420 241 401 154, , e-mail: marie.pribova@ilol-think-tank.eu. The actual date of delivery of such written notice to the organizer is to be regarded the exact and effective cancellation date.
  • The reimbursed deposits, cancellation fees and refunds will be settled by the organizer after the closing of the workshop, within two weeks after the end of the event.
