Health literacy research will go on internationally

ILOL  research team working on the health literacy research project organized a meeting of potential research partners from different countries who are interested in this topic. The meeting took place in Prague on 24th October, 2008.

So far, the topic of health literacy is interesting for the following countries (in alphabetical order):

• Lithuania

• Poland

• Romania

• Spain

• Turkey

As the meeting was a follow-up of the ILOL Conference, the international participants participated in both events and were able to disscuss the topic in more details. The basis for the discussion were the first research results of the ILOL team (for more details see the ILOL research paper).

The major discussion was focusing on globalization of methodology that must respect differences in cultures and health care systems. The other issue was financing of this international project.
